What dedicated server would I need to host a LAN Party for 100 people? Where would I get them from?

I рƖοt tο host Weekly LAN Parties money іѕ חοt much οf a concern. I јυѕt want tο know wһаt equipment I wουƖԁ need tο host іt fοr 100 people

    Any router will do. If you want to go Wireless… then get a wireless router. But you would want some Ethernet Switches if you want all of persons computers PLUGGED IN.

    You see, most routers will handle 127 connections without a problem. If you are running with High Speed Cable at 1.5MBS then you will doubtless run just fine…

    There are a few different ways you can go. If you have dsl you can all join with a router and wireless cards.

    You would not really need a server to hold a LAN have fun.

    If you wish to supply a internet connection to all then you would need a broadband connection to a broadband modem and join that to a router. I would then join the router to 4 or 5 multi port switches like the D-Link – DES-1024D – 24-Port 10/100 Rackmountable Thrash.

    From there you can plug in the computers or a few access points if you want to add wireless capabilities also, or you can use a wireless router if you dont want to get extra access points..

    Here are some suggested harvest and prices.

    Wired Router: D-Link – DI-LB604 – 4-Port Cable/DLS Dual WAN Load Balancing Router @$115.00

    Wireless Router: D-Link / RangeBooster N 650 / DIR-635 / 300Mbps / 802.11n (Draft-N) / 4-Port / Cable/DSL Wireless Router @$120.00

    Thrash: D-Link – DES-1024D – 24-Port 10/100 Rackmountable Thrash @$70.00 each

    Wireless Access Point: D-Link / DWL-7100AP / 108Mbps / 802.11a/b/g / Wireless Access @120.00 each
